Bird Marella partners Ashley Bowman, Elliot Harvey Schatmeier, Michael Landman, Christopher Jumin Lee, and Kimberly Meyer have been named to the global Lawdragon 500 X—The Next Generation list.

Ms. Bowman dedicates her career to handling complex commercial civil litigation and has successfully litigated high-stakes federal bench and jury trials, as well as first-chairing an arbitration for a leading specialty foods producer. She has represented numerous clients spanning various industries, including cosmetic corporations, fintech companies, and individuals and organizations in the entertainment industry. Ms. Bowman has successfully defended companies in commercial contract and IP and trademark dispute matters, including securing a complete defense verdict in a federal jury trial for Pentius, LLC and Array US, Inc.

Mr. Harvey Schatmeier has a proven track record of trying complex business disputes, including breach of contract, business tort cases, and disputes arising from complex business transactions. Over the last five years, he has achieved many wins in multimillion-dollar jury trials and arbitrations for Fortune 500 companies in some of their most high-stakes cases. A significant facet of Mr. Harvey Schatmeier’s practice involves class and mass action privacy work. Currently, he, along with co-counsel, is representing a privacy organization seeking to protect the privacy, safety, and security of New Jersey public servants under Daniel’s Law and have secured several early victories to challenges to that law.

Mr. Landman is a former federal prosecutor who uses his experience as a prosecutor and trial attorney to represent individuals involved in criminal investigations and complex business disputes. He recently defended the former Vice President of Finance of a major public company, securing an acquittal in one of the largest fraud prosecutions ever brought by the U.S. Department of Justice. The trial win was honored as the Most Important Court Case of the Year at the 2024 Global Investigations Review Awards and was named Benchmark Litigation’s Impact Case of the Year. He is frequently engaged by clients before charges are filed and helps them avoid charges and enforcement actions.

Mr. Lee offers clients top-flight advocacy combined with the ability to bridge disparate business cultures, as a South Korean national who has served as lead counsel in U.S. jury trials. Mr. Lee focuses his practice on cross-border business disputes, many of which involve cutting-edge issues in the blockchain industry. He most recently represented a Korean-American apparel company in a two-month jury trial against multi-level marketing company LuLaRoe, ultimately securing a $164 million verdict in his client’s favor.

Ms. Meyer is an accomplished litigator with an expertise in high-profile entertainment disputes, including matters concerning artificial intelligence, profit participation claims, and intellectual property. She represented Scarlett Johansson in her dispute against OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, concerning ChatGPT’s apparent use of Ms. Johansson’s voice in connection with its chatbot, as well as in a widely publicized lawsuit Disney over Ms. Johansson’s contract for the Marvel film Black Widow. Ms. Meyer’s other clients include talent and producers on some of television’s most beloved shows, film financiers, and Hollywood guilds.
