Home Arrow right News & Insights Arrow right Judge Suspends Evidentiary Hearing in 30+ Defendant Health Care Fraud Suit After State Investigator Incriminates Himself

Tuesday, January 4, 2022

In a case charging over thirty individuals in a 100 felony count criminal health care fraud case, a Bird Marella team consisting of attorneys Benjamin Gluck, Nicole Rodriguez Van Dyk, and Naomi Solomon won the right to examine a District Attorney Investigator on the issue of whether the District Attorney’s Office had cooperated too closely with a large insurance company.

The hearing was suspended, however, when Mr. Gluck’s examination caused the investigator to incriminate himself and the presiding judge advised the investigator to obtain counsel before the hearing continues.
