Bird Marella principals Mark Drooks and Sharon Mayer won dismissal of a legal malpractice case brought against a Michigan-based AmLaw200 firm and one of its partners in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The firm was accused of negligently providing an opinion letter that the plaintiff relied upon when agreeing to the release of funds from escrow. The Court granted Bird Marella’s motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction.
