In 2012, Gary S. Lincenberg and Peter J. Shakow obtained a mistrial while defending against a securities fraud prosecution by the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and then won dismissal of six of the seven counts. In 2013, the seventh count was retried, and Lincenberg and Shakow again prevented a conviction when the jury deadlocked 6-6.
