On March 29, 2014, Bird Marella partner Peter J. Shakow presented the webinar, “Spies in the Corporate Shadows: Economic Espionage Prosecutions in the 21st Century” to a group of online participants.
The webinar covers a number of topics pertaining to the Economic Espionage Act (EEA) and criminal prosecution of trade secret theft. Topics included the EEA’s history and scope, why it is important for corporate managers and in-house counsel to be aware of its provisions, and lessons learned from real-world cases. Mr. Shakow also discusses strategies companies can use to help prevent trade secret theft or to be better prepared to address it.
