Kelvin Han

Kelvin Han is an experienced trial lawyer who represents companies and individuals in complex intellectual property, technology, and commercial disputes. His practice focuses on high-stakes patent, trade secret, and business litigation in federal and state courts, as well as proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), the International Trade Commission (ITC), and international tribunals.

Mr. Han has experience managing all phases of litigation, including case strategy, fact and expert discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation. He has handled disputes involving a broad range of technologies, including software, networking systems, gaming platforms, semiconductors, consumer electronics, streaming architecture, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, food technology, and cryptocurrency-related technologies. His representations have involved leading companies in the semiconductor, automotive, entertainment, biotech, and consumer electronics sectors.

Before joining Bird Marella, Mr. Han practiced at O’Melveny & Myers, Irell & Manella, and Winston & Strawn, where he represented clients in complex intellectual property and commercial litigation matters.

He also maintains an active pro bono practice. His recent pro bono work includes representing unhoused individuals in a class action under the Americans with Disabilities Act that resulted in a citywide settlement.

Mr. Han earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as Executive Submissions Editor of the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in California and Texas and is fluent in Korean.
