Duy Nguyen

Duy Nguyen is an associate who represents clients in complex business disputes, government investigations, and high-stakes litigation. His experience spans securities litigation, product liability matters, internal investigations, employment disputes, and regulatory proceedings, as well as appellate and federal court litigation. He works closely with clients to develop strategic solutions in matters involving significant legal, financial, and reputational risk.

Prior to joining Bird Marella, Mr. Nguyen was a Product Liability Litigation Associate at Perkins Coie, where he defended product liability actions for a major aircraft manufacturer and handled discovery, legal research, motion practice, and witness preparation in complex litigation matters. He also drafted substantive motions and discovery responses in product liability cases involving a leading e-commerce platform and contributed to the firm’s pro bono immigration practice.

Before Perkins Coie, Mr. Nguyen served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Denise J. Casper, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. In that role, he assisted with drafting judicial opinions and orders and supported the court’s preparation for hearings and other proceedings.

He began his legal career at WilmerHale in New York, where he represented clients in securities litigation, employment disputes, and government investigations. His experience included responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies, including the SEC and FINRA, conducting witness preparation and deposition work, and participating in a multistate internal investigation. He also briefed complex constitutional and employment law issues and contributed to successful dispositive motions.

While attending Boston College Law School, Mr. Nguyen served as Executive Notes Editor of the Boston College Law Review and graduated cum laude with honors. He was a student attorney in the law school’s Immigration Clinic, competed in moot court competitions, served as a teaching assistant, and authored a published law review article addressing election law and constitutional due process principles. He also externed for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
